I have installed TP0.9.7 some time ago. Recently made some changes in the download manager and for some reason the icons of the folders (or documents) do not show.
When I click on the red X that shows and ask for properties, it shows a url and I have verified that the gif files are on the right spot.

When I click on "edit", the DL manager shows the right file names, so I know the images are there.

When I pick "no icon", nothing happens.
When I pick any other icon, click on the red X and then on "Show image" nothing happens...

Anybody else has had this problem?
And how did you solve it?
Thanks.

Zetan

Have you checked that the images are actually in the correct folder on your server? A red X means a missing image.

Also could be a permission thing on your img folder

Hi Zetan,

Wow, that's fast. Thanks and yes. I just checked again to make 100% sure; when I open the folder with my ftp program, the icons are there. That's the strange thing. I just do not know why they do not show.

What edits did you do ?

And can you please post a link to your site and a testaccount if you have the downloadsection locked for guests so we can see inside the downloadmanager

I have not made many edits, some language changes as the forum is basically in Spanish. But the same thing happens on a similar forum I installed in English.

The links (both have option to use English):
- http://www.consumidoresint.org/forums/test/

I made a testaccount with user & password: testaccount

(have been out of service for a while...)

I checked the url and it gives an error indeed (It is most likely that configuration files for this url are corrupted).
Strange, because when I check the folder with my ftp programme, it clearly indicates the file with date, time and size. Downloading it shows the icon correctly.

I still have no clue as to what is the cause and how to fix it...

You are not the only one. I have the same problem.
When I look on the server with FTP program or my host file manager I see the files, but if I try to view the files in a browser I get a HTTP 500 error. I have also tried to link them to a HTML page with no luck. I have deleted the folder and reuploaded them but agian with no luck. Have contacted my host to see with there is a problem, but have not heard any news yet.

I have also found that if I delete the .htaccess in the tp-download and tp-downloads/icons directory that the images show up. Will this cause any problems?

I "solved" the problem...
Believe it or not, I went crazy over this as it did not show nicely on the forum pages. At some point, I renamed the folder to ../icons_old and uploaded the original folder again. No luck, so I deleted the latest upload and renamed the folder back to ../icons.

And for some reason, the icons showed up and errors were gone....
Hope this helps.
