We have noticed in our forum that the smilies have stopped working for every member group except admins. When a user goes to use a smiley, all that shows is the code like :ban or :thumbsup. It is across all themes And after having checked permissions and verifying paths, I cannot see where the problem may be. I am using smf 1.1.2 and v.983 of TP. I don't know exactly when this may have started and all appears normal. I checked ftp to verify the .gifs are ok and checked the permissions as well. Any idea what may be causing this? Ideas would be welcome...

Grumpy, we are unable to provide support for problems with SMF. There's just too much to do with TP itself. Only thing I can say is to check to see if BBC is turned off. If not, then you'll have to go to SMF for more help.

No problem. I wasn't sure which part the smilies pulled from. Thought maybe SMF though. I wasnt sure if this was theme related, although it crosses every theme, or SMF. I will check the BBC though, Thanks...

Ok, I found the problem... just in case it helps someone... I had the Garbled url mod installed from smf and that was causing the issue. It seems that one of the things it was doing was preventing the use of the " : " sign. Of course many smilies have that for their code which explains why certain ones were not allowed. :coolsmiley:
