Could some one tell me how to enter the short name
of an article so I dont get a database error?
Thanks bonsaidad  :idiot2:

IchBin

I'm sorry, but what do you mean by short name?

bonsaidad

When posting a new article I get an error notification saying Field 'shortname' doesnt have a default value. Then referes back to TPortalAdmin.php line 463. I looked in the database table articles and there was a field called shortname what I need to know is what did I miss when setting up the article.  :'(

Thanks Bonsaidad

superQ

Not knowing too much at all :uglystupid2:, but while I was waiting for more knowledgeable help, I would try to check and/or repair the database in phpmyadmin and also in admin>forum maintenance> at the top.It can hurt ;D
I Have no clue as to if it might help, but setting up an article is pretty straight forward and requires no particular size of anyting as far as I ever seem anyway

IchBin

You could also try running the manual_tp_install.php file from the manual install. That should repair the tables and set default values.

The "shortname" is actually the "Query title:" field of the article, so try entering something there. It should really not care about it though.

bonsaidad

Thank you for your help, I discovered the Query title in other articles (demos) but in this new article there was no area under the article title to enter the Query title. Maybe I have to re-enter that php file. I reloaded the database like advised above but with no luck. If worse comes to worse I will manually re-install the entire TP.

I am seeing this same error on a brand new test install today.

When creating a new article, there is no option for Query Title, but if you edit the same ones there is.

ah, thats a bug then. I will correct that one. No biggie, but not as it should be.

pgordemer

So for a new install, you can't add any articles.

Waiting for .99

FWIW, same error when trying to add Catagories
