I am changing servers.... I want to maintain the database..

I used mysqladmin to backup the data, but the 2 databases have different names..

so how do I get the data imported correctly?

This is more of a SMF question. They have documentation on this at their doc site. http://docs.simplemachines.org

Well I just did the same thing your wanting to do just yesterday. Ask your new host if they can do a Restore backup for you Most can. They will walk you through the steps of sending them the backup. Like I said I just did this yesterday and didnt lose any files or data shoot the site never went down during the process and members never even knew it happened.
