QuoteUpshrink table created
Settings table created2: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource
File: /home/content/j/a/c/jacobryan82/html/smf/Packages/temp/tp_install.php
Line: 169

I'm having the same problem where everything seem to be installing then in goes to a blank screen and nothing happens I check my packages and it still says apply mod.  But I only get the error above after I first upload the file after that I get the blank window??

???

Resident Geek

That error says mysql_num_rows()
usually it's something like smf_num_rows()
Are you sure that you have the correct information in for your DB?

Jacobryan

I have not changed anything in my database. I had TP 9.7 working fine then I did the upgrade and now I cant get TP back on my site to save my life!!  :'(

Resident Geek

Hmm. That's strange. I did a search through my own database to see were the num_rows was stored, and it's not anywhere in my database.
I'd try redownloading the file, and reuploading it. My guess would be that you've got a corrupt file.
Unless you've happened to have been messing with SSI.php before you uploaded. I hear it'll cause you a lot of grief if you've been messing with it, when you try to update TP.

Jacobryan

I have touched nothing!!

The only thing I have done with my database is back it up.  I dont know enough about php to mess with any files!!

Also I have downloaded the file again uploaded it and still I get the same problem.  I even tried uploading the old 9.7 file and it does nothing!!

What mods do You have installed?
Also, do you have any blocks with script coding in them. They tend to cause problems at inconvenient times.

Jacobryan

The only mod applied is:

SMF 1.1.2 Update Package

Resident Geek

What about code block snippets? Do you have any code in a script block?

G6Cad

Download the big upgrade package from SMF, extract the package on your local machine and then take out the upgrade.php and the 2 sql update files.
Upload them to your forum root and point the browser to the upgrade.php file.
Let it update the database, then try and install TP again.

Resident Geek

You may want to check to see what tp_install.php is trying to do on line 169. May give you/us a clue as to what it's trying to do.

EDIT: Never mind. Listen to G6. She knows a lot more about this than I do. I just hack code.  >:D
