Easier to just replace all the SMF files from the SMF upgrade package.
And then emty out the package folder from the content it might have.

Crip

If you want, I may have time to do it all for you?
I have become comfortably numb!

That wouldn't solve the problem of installing Tp, unless afterwards you try to install it. :P

Crip: I should be able to handle those instructions. May I reserve the right to get back to you? Here or PM? Thanks much for the offer.

I've already donated a bible. That was way too easy.

Anything tp_database, look in Sources/ delete anything TP, & upload New SMF_ones.. look in the Default Theme delete anything TP / languages/folder too.. look in your Forum/root in the packages folder delete the TP_zip file & check/edit the [installed list] make sure no TP shows in there.. check in the backup/folder delete any TP in it..In Admin/Packages uninstall / delete any TP there..

OK..
noow you have a regular SMF Forum with no sign of TP ever beeing there, so now upload TP_zip via package manager and install..it will work this way...

I did all that best I can tell. No go, via package manager at least.

Crip, I'll willing to give you a shot at it. PM me for info if you're still game.

Otherwise, since I know TP will install into a fresh smf install with a new database, I'm game to go that route, but I am nervous and unsure about restoring my old database to that new database. Inexperience, I suppose.  I'll want to get step by step guidance nd be really clear on exactly what to do with the new install and new db and the restoring so that I don't make any mistakes.

chriscorreia

I went through all of those steps and still no go.

A far as a fresh install of smf and a new db, and then getting my old data/database into the new one, I tried that on my test forum and I obviously don't know enough to make a restore or import happen properly. I tried it three different ways, but got different error messages. I obviously don't know what I'm doing with db setup, structure, restoring, etc. Unless it's a straightforward create it and use it, I don't yet know enough to do it properly. I would really like to keep my memberlist and posts.

I'd be willing to give someone who knows what they're doing a shot at it if they are willing. A contribution to your favorite charity will be made in your name!

Well looks like I can benefit from this thread...

So if you want to delete all tp files, you must delete TP in all the folders.  Don't know why I didn't get that from having to manually install all those files.  lol  Peace

Hygron, send the same accounts and i will fix your site for you. It's sort of have become my baby to now after all the installs and upgrades i have done there  :2funny:
