Should my forum be installed at www.mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com/forum

Hi,

My forum is installed at www.mydomain.com so when you type www.mydomain.com in your browser you come directly to the forum. I want to install Tinyportal and I want "home" to be the first page and then you can go to the forum by clicking on the forum buttom. Is it possible if my domain is installed at www.mydomain.com?

It can be either, but www .mydomain.com  is best I would say other people may have other ideas

Thats ur decision like Lesmond said.

Some things to consider:
- Do you want a splash page? or have another page setup or portal or html based webpage as the main page?
If yes then its better to install in mydomain.com/forum

- Do you want the smf/tp set up to be your main webpage?
If yes then u should go with the root option (mydomain.com)

You can have a redirection page if you want too...
I would do it /forum to make it more organized...but that's just me.

I just installed to my root.. if your goin to instal TP then there is no need to throw it in a forum folder.. but if you plan on installing the forum and maybe later on integrate it into a portal or a website then i would go for the forum folder solution.. anyway its up to you to decide.. both things work fine

I prefer a forum folder with a redirecting front page! reason being if I get any problems the forum files are separate and all I need do is keep a copy on my computer (and a copy folder on the server) then if the worst happens I just upload the whole folder.
