The same company that killed the TechTV network (rest in peace), then deliberately fired every last employee of TechTV (250+ talented individuals), almost bought out the entire Disney empire (Disneyland, Disney World, Walt Disney Pictures, ABC, ESPN, ect.), attempted to abolish Net neutrality (a continuing initiative), and profited a staggerly one billion USD in 2006 (corruption at its finest) is now confining its high-paying customers with an abrupt, vague bandwidth usage limit! COMCA$T, the world's largest cable television and internet provider, has established yet another means to stick it to its millions of customer by implementing a bandwidth cap, the first major ISP to impose such an asinine limitation. In a time when bandwidth consumption is at its highest ever, yet supply still drastically exceeds the demand, ludicrous and unjust business exploits like this further demonstrates Comcast's massive, vicious, and unlawful cable monopoly!  I am sure if the FCC has no problems accepting cash bribes from Comcast neither will Merriam-Webster to thereby modify the meaning of "unlimited," since that is what we pay for anyways. It wonââ,¬â,,¢t be long before we cry out- One Internet, Under COMCA$T, With Censorship And Reductions For All.

Read more about this Internet epidemic at http://www.boston.com/business/personaltech/articles/2007/03/12/not_so_fast_broadband_providers_tell_big_users/ and please raise awareness before these ruthless pigs carry out worse!

Comcast!! LOL!!!

So whats the deal with your AT&T logo in your sig ??

I don't have them anymore... So good luck to all you Comcast folks!!

Well you may surprised when comcast limits your line even though you don't have service through them. They own a lot of the lines across the US and I wouldn't be surprised if they limit other company's who are leasing from them in the process.

Gargoyle

Ah it's cool... The internet will find a way around it.. ;D

Comcast in near here, but I have [Charter]..I haven't heard anything about adding Caps on it?
I have become comfortably numb!

Well they're fools if they do... The new fiber connections spreading across the country will significantly lower the cost of bandwidth. Sooner or later, everyone will have fiber. The problem is getting it out there.

What goes around comes around..I hear ya.

Other ISPs will take advantage of this devious bandwidth restriction.

Very true. Although the major ISPs are continually fighting the regulations for them to lease their lines to smaller providers. Soon it will be a thing of the past. It is big, Republican, money-driven monopolies versus honest, independent businesses- not a very fair match-up at all.

Unless packets can magically bypass any wired or wireless form of transmission, your local ISP, and the root DNS servers, then yes.

Comcast has already commenced on this bandwidth cap. I have Charter Communications too and dearly hope they do not absorb this ridiculous tactic.

As you know, optical fiber cable is expensive, and even though in the run long it is a cheaper (and faster) alternative, the ISPs will not reek the savings onto us. Remember, Comcast profited ONE BILLION USD in 2006 and surely they will want to increase on their capital gains every year.

It was wise for them not to publicize this, although news always leaks (as such). Yes, it has begun.
