I am having a strange problem, for some reason I can send PMs from the admin account but when i sign in as a member user it will not send the mail. It gives me the option for new mail, but when i send the message it comes back to the new message page with no mail sent.
I have been through the permissions and the members are allowed to send and receive PMs, like I said there is no problems when I am signed in as admin.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you asked this over at SMF? This really is an SMF problem and not TP.
However there are some settings in Admin > Features and Options > Basic Features.

Your Admin status will allow all regardless of Permissions. Have you checked the Error Log?
There are also personal settings, but I don't see any on my board that would stop me sending PMs.

I have asked at SMF but the response here is 10 fold of theres. I posted the same topic 3 days ago to no avail at smf, but get a response here in 10 mins. anyways i will look into these settings, how do i check the error log?
thanks for the quick response.

Admin > Maintenance > Forum Error Log.
Thats if its enabled. Enable it, try and send a PM.. go back and check log.

Well considering this place only has 18,000+ members, and SMF has 10 times that, I wouldn't expect a response in less than 24 hours all the time.

Let us know about your error log.

8: Undefined index: smfgallery_admin
File: /home/peak/public_html/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 2736

this is the only error i am getting, no error from the member i tried to send the pm from.

Zetan

You could set up a test account, give it Admin rights and login in using that account. Send Your own account a message.

I setup the test admin and was able to do this with no problems, the problem i'm having is the members not being able to send PMs

[edit] scrap that

Okay...

What are the Permissions for Each Member Group?

Personal Messaging

Read personal messages ?
Send personal messages ?

What are the "Member Group" permissions for the member, that is having PM problems?
You need to set the permissions for that group.

Check here and Print:
Admin > Maintenance > Generate Reports > Permissions > Print!

That will give you a complete overview of all permissions for every group.
Compare and fix as needed.

If that works, great... if not.... then you must have an error somewhere.
