Is there anyway to get multiple portals in one forum.
These use other software and do it quite successfully.
http://www.wcleague.net/
http://www.tf-league.com/

Please don't make me switch software ~~.

Porky

They due it by setting up different forums under different positions.

Ie
http://www.yoursite.com/forum1
http://www.yoursite.com/forum2
http://www.yoursite.com/forum3

Then they just make a splash screen in the root directory to allow you to choose which one you want to go to

Wish

No, did you look at 2nd one? Its the same forum with different portals. Like they both have one with all of the news together from both the Dota/wc3 section and then then they have them separate if you go to forums of each they have full forum that is exactly the same on both portals. Please go look at both sites a little bit before giving me a simple answer which I could have realized myself ~.~

They have diffrent portals, shared forum. And even a shared portal. Its done in both PHPBB and Vbulliten I hope it can be done in SMF.

Well I did look, and link one is a seperate forum, showing different guest and members online counts, link 2 & 3 both goto the same forum and NIETHER forum has the same exact counts, so Porky is right.Ã,  ;)

Basically all they would be doing (in comparison to TP) is linking the splash page to a different article. Set an article on your frontpage and set blocks to only display when that article is displayed.

Oh and btw, we won't make you do anything. You can do that all on your own without us forcing you.

Wish

The wcl one has this one you first go there.
-Enter WCL(http://www.wcleague.net/wcl3/)
-Enter WCL Clan Division(http://www.wcleague.net/wcl3/portal2.php)
-Enter WCL Dota(http://www.wcleague.net/wcl3/portal3.php)
Then if you click forum(http://www.wcleague.net/wcl3/index.php) on any of those pages it is the exact same url.

Also, an example would be the "recent topics blocks" on the main page has the recent topics from every forum. Yet the Clan division/dota divsson only have recent topics from that respective forum division(go look at forums to see what I am saying).

The tfl works the exact same way on diffrent software, I hope my elaboration helped on what I was getting at.

IchBin

I know exactly what you're saying, and if you listened to what I said you would be able to accomplish the same exact thing.

Wish

How do I set blocks to display only when that article is displayed.(And how would I get things like recent topics to only take them from one forum type)

And I was just making sure they knew what I was saying, because it apeared they didnt.

IchBin

In each block at the bottom of the options you have the option to tell it on which article to display.

For customizing things like recentTopics check the code snippets boards for ideas. Its been done a few times before.

Wish

How would I get multiple frontpage type things. Like a page where I would have forum posts from different topics being displayed. Right Now I only have one.
