XML Request Error when creating/editing an article

Hey all,

I'm not sure if this has been covered before now, but a search on the error came back blank so I figured I'd just ask.

Ive just created a brand new installation of SMF 1.1.1 and used the updater to update to 1.1.2
Next i used the package manager to install TP v0.9.7 ( SMF 1.1.2 compatible package )

Everything appeared to install without any errors, however

As soon as i go to the manage articles page, my browser ( I.E 7 v 7.0.5730.11 ) displays a warning icon in the lower left corner ( See Attached Image "Browser Warning Corner" and "IE Warning Error" ).

This error doesnt stop the article manager page working but I am getting an error when i try to add an image to an article.

After Pressing the Insert/edit Image button I get the expected popup window ( See Attached Image " Add-edit image window" ) and next i click the "Browse Server" button and this is where the Fault occurs, See Attached Image "XML Error Dialogue"

After Dismissing this dialogue window I can click the browse button and upload an image but it does not appear in the window.

Ive also tested this using Firefox V 2.0.0.2

Firefox does not display the error warning in the status bar like IE 7 does but i get a similar XML error when i try and add an image after pressing the "Browse Server" Button.

Ive Also tested this using Opera V9.02 and again Im not seeing the browser error in the status bar but Opera seems to not be able to even display the FCKeditor interface at all.

I've Created a test account with admin rights as explained in the FAQ section If anyone wants to verify this.

Not at this time no.
You do have to remember this is a beta release, and there are errors that Bloc is working on all the time.
A fix will be made, but when is harder to give a good answer on exept when Bloc found the time to look and trace it.

Im still getting this error, is there a patch, fix or workaround yet?

I have found installing SMF filemanager mod and have it open in a seperate tab , or ftp or cpanel are OK workarounds, but not great.

Cant really say, some fixes can be found in a few posts here on TP aswell as on SMF, but they seem to only help some and not all, so try a search and see if you find the fixes and if they help you out.

I did a search for "xml request error", this seemed to be the most relavant thread here.

Try "IE error"
If i remember it correct, that or these topics will have a few diffrent fixes on this site

Ok, this seems to be a host specific thing, im getting the error again with my new host and still dont of a fix, apart from changing host.
