Menu Manager problems

Bloc, I'm having two issues with the menu manager of TP 0.75 (with SMF 1.1 RC1). I looked for this on the forum, but could find anything about this. Is there a central place where I can look for known bugs?

1) When adding a Link menu item it doesn't accept any double quotes in the link address field. I'm trying to add the following link: steam: "-applaunch 240 +connect 82.150.134.66:27016"

But when I save this, it only leaves in the steam: part. I tried replacing the double quotes with single quotes and that is saved fine, but apparently parameters can only be including between double quotes (for steam atleast).

Is there perhaps a quick workaround or hack to fix this?

2)  When adding a new Header menu item, I filled in the header name in the bottom form field to the right of the Header radio option, but this information is not stored when I save the new item. Afterworths I have to edit the header name again after which it is stored.

Number 2 is  a bug I will correct..for number 1 ..how about trying:

steam: \"-applaunch 240 +connect 82.150.134.66:27016\"

Leviathan

Already tried that as well, but doesn't work either (will result in only storing "steam: \")

bloc

Hm..and without any quotes doesn't work either?

Leviathan

If I leave out the double quotes the link is stored completely, but than steam doesn't receive those parameters and therefor doesn't startup CS:S to connect to the server.

I tested it without quotes and with single quotes, but steam only likes it when the parameters are passed between double quotes!

bloc

Hm. that can prove to be tricky. At least through the menu manager. I would instead try a php-type of block and use it like:

echo '<a href="steam: \"-applaunch 240 +connect 82.150.134.66:27016\"">steam</a>';

Leviathan

But than that link won't be in the menu block, right? Or am I missing something here? :?

And when you say that it could prove to be tricky, are you than talking about fixing this in the next release, shouldn't be so hard should it :?, or about an easy workaround for doing this right know with the existing 0.75 functionality?

Anyway, if it can't be done (atm), than that is ok! There is already a working link in the separate server (phpbox :)) block, but I guess it would be more obvious to visitors when it is in the menu, that's all  ^-^

bloc

Its tricky in itself..since the string(link) is stored in the database. Basically the menu mananger assume the strings are to be inside double-quotes - and not actually contain double-quotes.

IchBin

You are right that it will not show in the context menu block. However, you can still disable that block and make your own block to create the same effect.

Leviathan

Hold your horses! (is that the right expression to use :coolsmiley:)

Is see where your going ichbin, well I think I do but that don't matter anymore, since I found another way! Turns out that the last steam update contained a new syntax for this application url thing, or whatever it is called. The new or additional syntax is steam://connect/<ip>, so no more double quotes needed! Works like a charm   8)
