Something wrong with SMF file server?

I was happily downloading the MOD's i need for my upgrade, but the browser is connecting anc connecting... ad no download starts. I was also un-installing the mods of my forum and can't continue because it's connecting for several minutes now "trying to fetch the most populat packets" and does not show the menu below yet

Been testing several downloads there now and they all worked just fine and fast to

Yeah, it began working again an hour ago or so... never mind.

EDIT: if this happens again, how could i display the package page without connecting to simplemachines? Could someone implement a timeout option there so it continues loading?

As it is Simplemachines.org i think you better ask them as it's their site and their server

something was wrong early today because i was unable to access to the admin center frontpage wich i think connects to smf fileserver. So something must have been up

thats weird cos thanthos told me that even if SMF was down totally it should not effect you being able to acces or not access your packagemanager or news page

Could been the nameserver that didnt work properly, if the name server goes off line, nothing will work with that url what so ever.

I couldn't access the simplemachines page... so kind of useless to post their forum with this question. I would not have asked, if it wouldn't be for the "download server" also to be down. I was uninstalling packages and downloading new packages to my machine to prepare the upgrade, so it was kind of annoying that both stoped working in the middle of it all...
