moving to different host....how?

My chapter finally sprung for it's own hosting service so I'm moving what I currently have done to its new home.  Question of the day....how?

I've done some searches and I must be using the wrong search terms because I cannot find anything detailed.

I have SMF 1.1.2 and the latest version of TinyPortal (w/ Enterprise theme) installed on my "test" site.  I've made two backups cause I don't know which one I will need

• First is "save table data"
• Second was both options..."save table data" and "save table structure"

The new site (http://www.ussriverside.us) will be using SMF 1.1.2 and TinyPortal as well.  Should I do fresh installs of SMF/TinyPortal first?  Do I install mods after that and then import the database?

IchBin, thanks for the quick response. 

So far everything you pointed me to just has me saving all the files and then reuploading them to the new site.  Is that correct?

BTW, I've already completed step 1 on that mega guide....maintenance mode.  I'm so proud of myself!

Thats all you need to do to move your files. Once you're files are in place its just a matter of importing your database so you don't lose pots/members etc.

1: Export your database via phpmyadmin.
2: Download all you files from the old server.
3: Upload all files.
4: Import the old db into the new one.
5: Run repair_settings.php (Available from SMF on a search).
6: Check all your themes to make sure the paths are correct for images, etc.

I've completed steps 1-3.  Moving onto step 4.

Stuck on step 4.  Did you honestly think I was smart enough to do it without asking questions?!

My problem is this.  I'm using a different database name so I'm getting an error:

If you can't import it through the phpMyAdmin. Try this little tool.

It will only take you a couple times of doing this before you understand it clark. Been there done that.

Make sure you select the database in the left column of phpMyAdmin. Then goto the import tab and insert your database file. Or you can try my above post first.

Got it, IchBin, the great I am!

i was finally able to import.  I used the repair_settings.php file and maybe more should be told about it.  I thought I was done when I saved the settings the first time until I scrolled down and noticed more things that needed changed.  Also I didn't see much explanation on queryless url's.  I just used the recommended option.

Although I did all that, it still had a few issues with the theme but that was quickly fixed once I went into the admin.

I'm still having trouble with some modules such as the location mod and the joined date mod.  For some reason, when looking at individual posts, there are two instances of each.

When I look in the forum error log, I get this:
