Undefined index errors

TP version: .9.7
SMF version: 1.1.1 final

I just converted my phpbb forum to SMF then added TP the other day and I noticed today about 73 pages of errors in the error log.
these are a few of them:

Undefined index: TPortal
File: ...................../Themes/default/Display.template.php (eval?)
Line: 323

Undefined index: tp-forum
File: ...................../Themes/default/Display.template.php (eval?)
Line: 502

Undefined index: TPortal_front_type
File: ...................../Themes/default/Display.template.php (eval?)
Line: 498

Undefined index: TPortal
File: ..................../Themes/default/MessageIndex.template.php (eval?)
Line: 323

Undefined index: tp-forum
File: ..................../Themes/default/MessageIndex.template.php (eval?)
Line: 502

Undefined index: TPortal_front_type
File: .................../Themes/default/MessageIndex.template.php (eval?)
Line: 498

Undefined index: TPortal
File: ................../Themes/default/BoardIndex.template.php (eval?)
Line: 314

There's more, but I won't post them all here, it would take too long. But they all seem to be errors for TPotal, TPortal_front_type and tp_forum.

Anyone know whats causing these and how to fix it?

I did try using the search first ...the topics that came up in the results didn't help. I guess the search terms I'm using aren't right...
