Gallery Module

Here is a couple of suggestions for features in the forthcoming Gallery Module.

1) Extract and use EXIF data
2) Allow Guests to view thumbnails & low-res
3) Allow Forum members to view thumbnails, low res and also hi-res
4) Allow FTP upload and auto import into a album/directory. For example create an album called Holiday2007 and then batch load via FTP or HTTP in to the album directory all your photo's straight off the camera/PC and then auto generate thumbnails. Admin/user then can step through each photo in the album and then type the description of the photo.
5) Include Video (mpg,avi,wmv) uploads.

Somewhat great features
But as Bloc stated that it will be a light gallery as he wants and likes to keep things light and with the basic features, i think that what we will see in a gallery module for TP are'

1. Easy adminpanel with in TP
2. Upload and approval with some sort of GDlibrary funktion for thumbnails
3. Diffrent permissions like, member upload, member view like ( SMF gallery permissions)
4. Comments and perhaps also rating system
5. Category system (like TP Article system)
6. Image description

But more then that i dont think we will see in a gallery module for TP builded by Bloc
For video streaming and similar will probably be a module by itself built by some other then Bloc like the Felblog builded by Feline.

Si if we are using the gallery lite, how hard do you think it will be to move the user pics over to Blocs gallery when it is all ready to go?

Cant even think in that way yet as we dont know how Bloc have thought his gallery will be set for TP.
But if i know Bloc, it would pretty much be as easy as it gets to import things to his gallery when he have some thing working.
He usually say, the easier things are, the better it will be, so thats about the best answer I can gibe you at the moment
