Hi.  My name is Steve, and I am new to this board and also new to SMF and TinyPortal use.  I am running SMF 1.1.1, TP 0.9.7.1, and the Amber theme. as updated for 1.1.1.  I installed TP using Package Manager, and all appeared to go well.  From the TinyPortal block under Admin, however, I received the following error message when going to Settings, Block Manager, or Article Manager:  "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1572864 bytes)in /XXX/public_html/sm/Sources/Load.php(1733) : eval()'d code on line 1241"  I received the same error when using the "[Edit article] [Edit options]" links on the TP front page.  Based on info in this forum, I contacted by host and asked for an increase in the memory allocation.  I was told the allocation was increased from 8M to 24M, and that Apache was restarted.  This did not solve the problem.  I have two questions.  First, if the host had actually increased the allocation, shouldn't the allowed memory size in the error message change to reflect this?  My host has been pretty responsive and I am generally willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.  Second, assuming the change was made, does anybody have any thought as to a solution?  Thanks.

You should be able to see that setting in a phpinfo page I believe. You can check to see if the changes have taken affect that way.

Thanks.  That's a very useful tool.  The memory_limit is unchanged at 8M, so I think I know where to go from here.  Thanks again for the tip.

Problem solved once the host changed the memory allocation.

Very cool. Just need to bug the host sometimes to get things done. :D
