Some of my users are reporting a problem viewing the shoutbox in Safari 2.0.4.  My site is using green version of the default theme, and the users have gotten the same result using the default theme as well. The shoutbox looks like this for them:

This happened when I updated SMF to 1.1.1 and TP to 0.9.7.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

jb

Maybe post a link to your site.
This problem happened to me and what was causing it was another block interfearing with it! ???

I've had users report the same problem and check it myself. Odd thing is I don't think it happens all the time. My shoutbox is in the right block and I have no other blocks on that side of the page.

I also checked the shoutbox in InternetExplorer (Mac) UGH! and the SB was empty with the scrollbar appearing partly on top of the center block on the RIGHT side of the SB (instead of where it belongs on the left). Pictures attached below (picture 1 - Safari, picture 2 - IE ).

Everything looks fine in Firefox.

Using DilberMC for TP as default theme

Do you have any custom blocks on your site? Doesn't matter which side they're on, they can screw up a whole layout. Disable them if so, and see if that fixes the problem.

the only thing the least bit custom is an html link to the gallery (only way I could think of to do with with my current lvl of ability - very low) and this is on the right hand side. Will try disabling this and see what happens

Did it work? ??? Another problem was, I had an admin delete my account because he was messing with things lol and since there wasnt a u=1 anywhere in the database it screwed it up. That is my problem also with the problem above, but it may not be your problem ;)

I've still got #1 in my database so I'm sure that's not it. And I'm not sure that the link in the right block is the problem either as it does not seem to be a consistent problem. Sometimes it shows up for Safari users, sometimes it doesn't. And I've not been tweaking the design inbetween. Odd, very odd.

I know one more option it could be... if you have like a code as an example:

<table><tr><td>HI</td><td>AGAIN</td></tr>

and you did not end the table the code or center code or any tag that must be finished with another code. This happened to me in another place as well ;)

interesting possibility. but I didn't write or change any of the shoutbox code. It's what came with TP
