I think I found part of the problem

I set up a test forum at

http://homegrownhost.ath.cx/smf/ (same server, different address)

As suggested, and the bug wasn't there  :)

But what was the difference?....

I had forgotten that I had unbridged it with Joomla just before I installed TP (forget which version, sorry)

I think it messed with MySQL (I've tried fresh SMF files), and TP dosn't like it? But when TP is uninstalled, the profile is fine?

Any thoughts?

I posted this as a new thread so someone would notice it  ;)

toyotaTRD

You should have unbridged smf from joomla before installing TP. That's what I did and it worked fine.I'm not sure if this is going to work, but have you tried the repair settings file from simplemachines.org ?

SPW

The way i understood it...remove joomla, smf is fine

I redid my settings.php and the profile is still broken  :tickedoff:

At smf there is a repair_settings.php file that will change all the paths.
I think it is here: http://www.simplemachines.org/download/index.php?thanks;filename=repair_settings.php
I am not sure if this is what will fix it but... try doing what toyotaTRD said with the repair_settings.php not settings.php

Then we can try to work our way around this problem. It just shows a blank page too and I am not sure what that could be causing. Ask IchBin, JPDeni, etc. for help ???

SPW

Thanks for that clarification, but it didn't fix the bug :(

It works fine without TP

That is a TP Teams Q! :D

TP Team to the rescue, lol :2funny:

IchBin

Sorry, but I don't quite get what you're having a problem with. If your having a problem with TP and you have joomla bridged with SMF, I'm not sure there's much help we can give you.

brianjw

SPW is having no problems with bridging with joomla. it is the profile page, it is completely blank.

You need to change the link on your profile button on that page so that it is like this.

http://tqteh.ath.cx/forums/index.php?action=profile;

SPW

The profile shows up, its editing your profile such as you avatar that fails
