I am trying to install the latest version of SMF and TinyPortal in my root www.joesdomain.ca

it works in the joesdomain.ca/forums but not in root. How can i get this accomplished?

Joe

akulion

upload webinstall.php file (get it from simplemachines.org)
upload it to ur forum root and run it

that will install SMf

after that upload the TP mod via Package manager and press install

thats all really

if u have too much problem let us know and we can do an install for u

joesdomain

when i use the webinstall, i get the following error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/joesdomain.ca/httpdocs/webinstall.php on line 1156

Any reason you are not just installing through your ftp or cpanel?

i have SMF installed (www.joesdomain.ca) in the root directory.
I downloaded and installed Tiny Portal:

TinyPortal v.0.9.7.1
This is a re-release of v0.9.7, but with added support for SMF 1.1.1

All seemed ok. No error. When completed, i asm prompted to restart forum to see changes but when i click the forum is the same.

It does not seem to be installed, something must have went wrong with your intall, when you view your package manager it shows you have tp installed?

Did you get any error's on the install?

You can always try a manual install, if it didn't write to your default theme index.template.php it will not work.

joesdomain

when i look in Package manager, under "Browse Packages", TinyPortal is listed there

For some reason it must not have written to the default theme, can you post your index.template.php from the default theme, I would like to see if the code it there or not.

It shows installed, yet no Tiny Portal files are in there, I looked in your directory, Perhaps a manual install would be called for.

I see on your website showed that the QueryString.php couldnt be found in your sources. Go to simplemachines download fresh install. Open up the sources file of the fresh install, take out QueryString.php and upload it to your existing sources directory.
