Its seems all my titles start with "I need some help" anyways.

Is there a way to disable the admin section from contacting the simplemachines site when it loads. I am tired of constantly having to wait when I need to do something in the admin section. I dont need it or want it.

Anyone....

Sorry this isnt an answer to your problem, it is another person who would really like to get a solution to this as well. I am currently locked out of the admin panels of all my sites because they wont load.

Hehe, something completely unrelated, so far we have a cow and a sheep in this thread.

bzmorrow

I think were talkin about the same thing....

It will load you just need to go make lunch while you wait......maybe?

take a look in admin.template.php you will see where the calls are being made and you can comment those line out temporarily.

bzmorrow

Last time I tried to "comment" something out, it wasnt pretty.

You mean find the line and // before it?

OK, here goes nothing....wish me luck - i'm going in!

Xarcell

You mean the newsfeed?

You can disable it in options.

bzmorrow

Whew, I am glad I came back to check this before I really screwed something up. Yeah in features and options? or news and newsletters?

Ill check both.

Xarcell

I went and experimented. It disables some other rss feed. I dunno which.

I guess you'll have to try it thier way.

Sorry...

I commented out all lines that contained simplemachines.org and it worked great.

Xarcell

Sweet...

Is the load really that bad on it though? You use dail-up, or broadband?

It doesn't seem to bother me.
