In the next SMF version there will be an article system! Users may uninstall TP if an article system is installed by default on SMF. What do you think?

There has been a static pages mod for a while, adding them to SMF would improve SMF, what are the Help pages if not static pages of a sort.

There is a lot more to TP than just the articles.

About resources, he does have a point there, although i am not sure he talks about TP. It does need more optimising, especially in the core files. Work to do there.
