this is not tp support so I post here

permission Q, guests can access the whole board but when they become member
they need to join a group to to be able to see the boards read topics or post

Don't ask me why i have a pretty good reason please Is This possible and how?

A question for SMF forums to answer as the forum and posts permissions are their support range.

And yes you can chut the entire forum for gusets and let it be visible only for registerd members

A member doesn't need to join a group as they are automatically added to the newbie group unless you change it. You simply need to change the permissions for the newbie group on the boards you want. If I understand you correctly anyway.

Also there is a mod available on SMF called "membergroup on registration"
I havent used it myself but you may want to check it up since it allows your members to choose one of the 'non mod/admin' membergroups upon signup.
