I am currently running: SMF 1.1 RC3 with TinyPortal v0.9.6beta
I am using Crip's conversions: [Theme] Default_Modern

I would like to use TinyPortal v0.97
I have downloaded TP_097_files_only.zip and manual_tp_install_097.php
I am not sure where to go from here without jeperdizing my nicely running current installation of SMF 1.1 RC3 with TinyPortal v0.9.6beta.

And how do you "run" manual_tp_install_097.php?

Any help is truly appreciated on this.

IchBin

Did you try the normal installation first? Any particular reason your using the manual way first? Simply uploading the 0.9.7 package to your package manager is the easiest way to update TinyPortal. You should not lose any of your settings etc.

The manual install requires you to upload the files and then run the manual install php file from your brower by pointing to it in the address bar. There's a great doc on installation in the docs board.

Thanks for the reply.
No I have not tried the he normal installation but I will do so later today.

Can I update to .097 from .086 on a SMF 1.1RC3 board ??

kran1um

SMF 1.1RC3 board is different from SMF 1.1 Final how? Is it necessary to install the Final?

G6Cad

The major things between the versions are the security fixes, so indeed, always use the newes version out

I am not able to un-install my TP version .086... Will this cause a problem as far as upgrading goes ?

G6Cad

No, if you dont have any other mods beside the TP V.086 you should be good, if you have any other mods installed, i suggest you uninstall them, upgrade the TP mod, and then install the others after that

Gargoyle

Ooops... I went ahead and ran it cause it gave no errors and the option to upgrade... It seems to work good... ;D

I am excited about this gallery he is working on. Is there any info around here about what he is planning on doing ?

I need to do a complete redo of one of my sites and I would hate to spend time updating and setting up coppermine if his gallery addition to TP will do the job.
