What happened in TP .096 and higher ??

I don't know about the rest of the development but I found something with the .096 that I dislike very much.

Now the TP is awesome so please don't get me wrong here but the is NO option to show blocks on the front page with articles and NOT on the forum section..

It seems that in order to use the 3 column design you have to do it for the whole site in order to use it on the front page.

This makes me sad. .. And very happy I have not upgraded one of my other sites.

Please tell me this is an option that was just over looked.

You mean on your front page you want Blocks and in the forum you don't? If so all you have to due is goto ADMIN>>>TP Settings and turn off your blocks in forum. Then when you create your articles goto EDIT VISUAL FOR THE ARTILCE at the bottom of the article and turn them on there.
Taht will due what I think you are trying to acomplish

I see the point..that certain blocks should ONLY appear on the frontpage - with its mix of forum posts and articles..or just range of articles. That will come, but its something which is not ready yet, because I got other options/features that need to follow this.

In the meantime..the option of hiding panels when in forum(general settings) will indeed not show 3-column layout in the forum - if thats primary what you seek.

Well I try to set the TP to only show the blocks on the frontpage.

I go into the settings area and set it to hide blocks in forum. Then all the block are gone from everywhere instead of just the forum.

I hope that makes more sense. The option is there but does not do what it did on version 0.8.6 It just turns them all off... Which makes me sad..

I did try the article thing but that did not fix the "frontpage"

This was a bug in .96. Upgrade to .97 and it will be taken care of.

O'kay so do I uninstall .96 then install .97 to do that upgrade ??

I ask because I do not see an install option for the .097 I have in my package manager at this time.

Alright I un-installed and re-installed... Works perfectly now!!

The best way to learn is to play in the Admin section.

Offcourse the best place to start to learn the TP funktions is to play in the Admin/TinyPortal/... (left column )
