i didnt know where to post this but..
im obviously looking to creating a website..
i just downloaded SMF 1.1 full, and i havnt the slightest idea where to go from here. idk if i need tinyportal, i just dont know. maybe someone could help me out

Do you have an C-Panel?  I creat an few forum's for myself and some few people!

You need to create an database first.  The create sudomain for two.  After you do that go back to the database and add the sudomain user to that database and upload that zipfile into your root of the site...

Oh wow umm.  No you don't need TP.  SMF 1.1 Final Version the mod's won't work with SMF 1.1.  The new version of TP isn't out yet.  They still tesing it.

The only thing you needed an C-Panel right now.  "Control Panel"

What type of host do you have?  Do you have C-Panel?

Get a host dude...one with ftp access and if you can your own control panel for creating databases...

i have a host now but i have no idea how to upload SMF to it
it has MySQL, c-pannel, ftp, all that..

one -- Log into your C-Panel
two -- Go to SubDomains and add one.
three -- After you add on then go to MySQL Databases!            four --  Create MySQL Databases after you do that.
five -- You have to add an user to your database on the same page!
six -- Grant all permissions on MySQL database to a MySQL user
seven -- afrer you do all that.  Go to the main page of the panel and you will see File Manager then hit that.
eight -- go to this folder public_html and upload that zipfile.  After that. It's willl saw you the link.  Grap that link off of it and put it in your browers.  It's will take you to the page for you to set up your forum
