where to download smf 1.0.8 full setup?

hi all

first, many thanks for maintaining such a great place - i'm a diehard fan of TP ever since i first discovered it some months ago
i am moving my forum (smf 1.0.8 with TP 0.9.6) to a new server, but having errors when importing the sql file.
so, i'm trying to grab a new setup file of smf 1.0.8 so i can do the exact same steps:
install TP and all mods that i used, and then drop all data from the tables (with phpmyadmin)
and then finally (hopefully) be able to restore my database without getting errors.
it says error on line 1.
i am no tech expert - so i'm trying to work on this backwards.

anyone has a better idea - please let me know; and the download link to a full 1.0.8 setup? - cant find this version anywhere...

This site only have the MOD TinyPortal, for SMF you need to go to simplemachines.org.

i searched on simplemachines.org for v1.0.8 but nothing except language files

Site seems to be down at the moment so i can't check but you might need to login to be able to see the SMF download.

If you have access to fantastico, then they still currently only offer 1.0.8

Also, I think there was a security update a while ago taking it to version 1.0.9?

You might want to consider upgrading to SMF 1.1 Final though...

if u want my advice - u should make the effort and upgrade to 1.1

The reason I say this is because very soon ALL mods will be for SMF 1.1 and themes as well (new ones) and people will probably stop developing for the older version completely over time.

So its good to get with the times :up: plus 1.1 has so many cool features u will be happy with it

Thanks for the piece of advice, but i have my database from a smf v1.0.8 forum with TP 0.9.6 (which i upgraded using package manager to smf 1.0.9)

how do i restore the database??

if i install smf 1.1 then i cannot use TP. unless there is a way for me to upload my database and drop (or exclude) the part of the database that has to do with TP 0.9.6, so that when 0.9.7 is out, i can install it and regain control of the saved settings from the TP on my old forum.

getting this error: Table 'username_forum.forum_tp_settings' doesn't exist

i tried creating the missing table, but quickly got sidetracked with the space module configs

help?

First of all get your 1.0.9 version working. If you're getting errors in your database import you may have a bad backup. Once you've got that solved then all you need to do is upgrade to 1.1

And for 1.0.8 you find it on simplemachines.org as i said before, try the archive in the download section there

i am downloading v1.0.8 (got lost first time among all the language files. hehe)

will reinstall TP mod and all mods and then try again to import my database to my new host. hopefully this time it will work out with no SQL errors during import :?
