Well this isnt really that news worthy and i know im a few days late - but still an interesting and knowledge increasing post so I thought I would share it....

The Mouse

We all use it on our PC and God only knows where we would be without it!

Douglas Engelbart of Stanford Research Institute invented the mouse in 1963 after extensive usability testing. Engelbart received patent US3541541 on November 17, 1970

The first mouse, a bulky device (pictured) used two gear-wheels perpendicular to each other: the rotation of each wheel translated into motion along one axis.

When was the computer invented though?

Thurnok

A computer "computes" things.  Based on this "name", it is used to make calculations.  The first device known to be used for calculating was the abacus (greek: abax).  It has been reported by some to have been created by the Babylonians sometime between 1000BC and 500BC and by others as being created by the Chinese in 2600BC.  Regardless, it is agreed it was the first "Computer".

I hate mice, I don't use them..I use the M.S. Accessibility Features plus the stickykeys // numeric key pad..

Sounds redundant I know, but it works for me. ;D

..
I have become comfortably numb!
