That's a good idea but then it would be a Tinyportal thing...not a Feline thing or a Smf Hack thing.
It's up to the owners and how they feel.

I believe the reason Felblog developed is that Bloc did not have time to do it right-away.
He was busy working on SMF, and refining TP's existing features, and still creating new themes.( in his spare time)
The reason Bloc wants to do his own gallery was to make it instantly compatable with SMF and TP; to assure it would continue to be compatable in the future, and he had some different features he wanted to put in a gallery which were not allready available.

Also the existing themes would integrate seemlessly with Bloc's modules, and seperate themes would not have to be created, saving him some time. ;)

I may be off-base, but this is what I remember from various posts I have read.

I cannot place where but I belive that it is also Bloc's intention to modify the TP code to make it simpler to add third party modules.

There will be a interface to plugin external modules, Felblog will be a great candidate to test this on. :)

TP was always meant to be a compact thing...so if I suddenly add more stuff, developed by others, I will lose the overview of it. And I like to have everything developed at the same time, which will not happen if several ar working on "their" end. Plus I can't imagine most of them really want to be just a part of TP.

So I can't promise "no more modules". True, it has taken long time to get the core to where its now, but thats it: the core is beginning to be so stable that working on modules will the only thing needed from now on. I could have worked on modules from the start, like DL manager, but it would hurt the work on the core I think. Too many balls in the air etc.
