Making ur DB smaller

Some simple measures to get rid of the junk from ur DB

A) Empty out your shout archives from the TP shoutbox area
You will be surprised how many pages accumulate there! My average is 150 pages per week each containing 30 shouts. So emptying that out will help a lot!

B) Empty out everyones inbox by force.
People have a habit of storing garbage PM's in their inbox which they will probably never read. You can set a limit on this ofcourse but if you choose not to - then just announce a week earlier to all members via PM that after 7 days ALL messages will automatically be deleted so be sure to save your important PMs

Then when the day comes go via PHMmyadmin to your DB and click on the SQL tab at the top and run this query

DELETE FROM smf_pm_recipients;
DELETE FROM smf_personal_messages;

Viola all pms from everyones inbox vanished and deleted fro good lol
