ive been un able to install tiny portal due to phase errors and even the manual instal tells me my permisions are wrong how can i install

If your permissions are wrong, check your directory and file permissions on your server and make sure they are correct before trying to install any mod. If you do not know what they should be then you'll have to contact your hosting and ask them. They are the only ones who would know what your permissions should be.

You can do a G-mod the permissions too. Try to put them at 777, 666, 644 first. to see if this would help out some.

Sometime that do the tick. Not all the time

If you still having problems do what Skhilled said too. Or both.

This usually boils down to the server not allowing the file to process because of some type of permission. I've never been able to figure out what that permission is. At this point you'll likely have to install TP manually.

You'll need to ask your hosting what the permissions are for files and what they are for folders. Then make sure they are set accordingly before you install your mods. Depending on the server you may also have to reset them after you install your mods.

Basically, servers that use 777 for files and folders have chmod issues (ownership) and you must contact your hosting to fix those. Then you  can change folder and file permissions again. But this will probably be a reoccurring issue. :P

Those with 755 for folders and 644 for files will have general permission issues. You can change those yourself or ask your hosting to to it for you.
