I have to say both of you are wrong, IE is way better than FF. Case in point, IE will display javascript blocks, FF will not. IE IS displaying the forum correctly, NOT FF. FF is too hard to work with, plug ins are not already part of the system where as they are with IE, and if you can find where to download them, you cannot always get them to install, unlike with IE 9.9 out of 10 times you do not need to worry about plug ins. Also as far as the problem at hand goes, FF is rendering everything TOO small, where as IE has everything rendered correctly.

i try to make and convert themes using IE, but if something is off and can't be fixed..look at the same with FF and there is No problems at all..IE + smf/tp is not good..imo

It is IE that is out of line. FF and Opera render css styles relatively correctly, even then there are some little quirks. IE is a law unto itself, IE7 is more W3C compliant than IE6 was, but IE is a real PITB for theme designers.

lol, are you serious..? All of your statements are wrong I am afraid. IE6 does not ship with any useful extras AFAIK, plugins if FF could not be simpler, locate the one, press install. (..) and as for rendering pages correctly: read up on it. Its not just us here that have concluded that IE is the WORST compliant browser around. The sad part is that its aslo the biggest, so its a constant challenge to get things working right in the others as well as IE.

And just a little clue..try watching 24-bit PNG's in IE and see how that goes...

Bloc with all due respect, sorry but I have to still disagree with you!!! As well I never said I used IE6, I just used IE and never stated the version, I use 7. As for FF no plug-ins are not as easy as you say to install. Over half of them you click the link to get them it takes you to the page for download but then it does NOT install. Also it still does not render the font sizes correctly nor javascript blocks.

well..you may disagree, but you are still mistaken.

Plugins in FF may be cumbersome to install, but its getting better(I was thinking of extensions earlier) and the fontsizes ARE correct in compliant browsers. IE have history of doing it their own way and that created a lot of trouble when you are viewing the pages in other devices. They simply break a lot more if you create them by IE standards.

As to Javascript blocks, I'm guessing your code is badly written. Firefox (Gecko) has the latest version of Javascript there is (and they set most of the standard) and its fast too. IE doesn't actually have Javascript. It has JScript, which is a good implementation of ECMAScript, with a bad implementation of the DOM and BOM.
