This is what it seems that you want:

The most recent x number of first posts in topics from a single forum to be displayed in full in a block on the front page with a link to the post on the forum.

Right? If not, explain in detail what you want and I'll see what I can do.

That sounds about right. Is there anyway to point to a specific thread, rather than the first, second, or third (and so on) thread? If not, that's fine also.

JPDeni

How would you want to define the specific thread? There needs to be a way to tell the script which one to look for.

I am not sure how to answer this. If you can think of a way that will work, I guess that would be fine with me.

It sounds like you just need recent first posts from a set number of boards?

In 0.8.6 you can have only one board to choose from, when you set "show forum" on the frontpage. But in 0.9.5 you will have up to 5 boards to collect them from.

Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to do this?

JPDeni

Go to Admin > TinyPortal > Settings > Frontpage

In the drop-down list, select the board you want to show on the front page

Enter the number of posts you want to show, how much of the posts you want to show and what to show. You would probably want to select either "Only forum" or "Both forum and articles"

I guess we thought that you wanted something more intricate. Sorry. :)

Glad it worked for you.
