I've looked under Modules and Tags, there is only one module present, Downloads Manager.  There is no option to add another.  This was present when I first logged into my site after installing TP.

Under Panels and Blocks, I changed one of the Blocks to TP module and titled it Shoutbox, then saved it.  Went back in and there are no additional options related to it.  So no radio buttons as mentioned above to select.  I even tried creating a new block, same thing, TP Module shows no additional options other then frame options beneath it.  So basically, it's merely a titled empty block.

However, if I select Sitemap, I get the Downloads Manager module, so something is messed up somewhere.  If it's set to Sitemap, the Downloads Manager is the only active module, nothing else is listed.

I had to manually install TP.  When i ran the tp_install.php, it returned hacking attempt....  I let that go because launching the base page showed the blocks.  Did the installer fail to do something?

kamenrider,

Besides what Ken mentioned, there is one other thing in that Doc that is incorrect wrt TP 1.0 beta 4.

Where it says "Next, select "shoutbox" block-type then click save." this should instead be "Next, select "TP Module" block-type then click save.  After saving, select the radio button that says TPShout and save again".  At this point, your shoutbox block should be created and you should be able to select the options.

If this doesn't work, then you might have had problems in the upgrade and might need to go through a manual install.

So i followed your instructions.  I selected TP module for the type then went in and editted and select the Shoutbox radio button and saved and saved again.  But its still not showing as a block.

Where can i get manual instructions from?

Ken.

kamenrider, check the block to see that it is set to 'show' somewhere in your forum.

In the block edit panel you'll see "Choose where the block should appear. [Show/hide panel]"
If that is set to Hide you won't see the options for where to show the block, so click on it to show those options and then pick where you want the block to appear.

pmiles,

This topic is an excellent example of why we make the following statement right in the Posting Guidelines ...

Please do not ask your own question in a topic. In other words, please don't hijack the topic and make it  yours. Start your own topic and reference the other topic related to your issue.

Your problem really has nothing to do with the original poster's issue in this topic.   Kamenrider was having trouble displaying a Shoutbox block.  You say that you don't even see the TP Shout module in your list of modules.  These are totally different issues.  Thus, this topic became more difficult to understand, and to solve, when you hijacked the topic and tried to make it your own.

I have read some of your previous posts, and even looked at your Forum (assuming that http://www.obsidian-skywall.com/smf/index.php is your Forum url).  Because you can't see the TP Shout Module, it is obvious that you got a bad install of either SMF or TinyPortal.  After looking at your site briefly, it appears that you don't even have all the elements of a full SMF install on your site.  For instance, though they don't have anything to do with making your Forum work, you seem to have deleted both the Babylon theme and the Classic YaBB SE Theme.  This deletion, in and of itself, will not cause your Forum to misbehave.  However, the fact that you have deleted these themes leads me to believe that you may have made other changes that will cause problems in your SMF install and, quite possibly, in your TinyPortal install.

Since this topic seems to be locked, the first thing I am going to ask you to do is to create a new support topic for your issue, not the issue discussed in this topic but the issue of not seeing the TP Shout Module in your TinyPortal Admin section.  Since your Forum seems to have only 1 post in 1 topic, and only 4 members, the logical choice for you is likely going to be to start over.  However, we will make this decision after we have seen your new topic.

Please be sure to Read and Follow the Posting Guidelines and include the information requested in your first post in the new topic.
