I dont have shoutbox type?

In the list of drop downs of what types i have, I dont have type "shotbox"? does it need to enabled somewhere?

Thanks for researching in the TinyPortal Docs kamenrider.  :up:

In TP b4 you need to do as follows to turn on the Shoutbox:
Admin>TinyPortal>Modules and Tags>Module Activation>TP Simple Shout  (Admin)>... there you can turn on the Simple Shoutbox and make any adjustments to the settings that you need.

i tried that, but i get an error message:



This comes up when i click the TP Simple Shout link within TP Simple Shout (Admin) as i can see its 2 different URLs

one is http://hackmypsp.net/forums/index.php?action=tpmod;shout
and the other is http://hackmypsp.net/forums/index.php?action=tpmod;shout=admin

Besides what Ken mentioned, there is one other thing in that Doc that is incorrect wrt TP 1.0 beta 4.

Where it says "Next, select "shoutbox" block-type then click save." this should instead be "Next, select "TP Module" block-type then click save.  After saving, select the radio button that says TPShout and save again".  At this point, your shoutbox block should be created and you should be able to select the options.

If this doesn't work, then you might have had problems in the upgrade and might need to go through a manual install.

I just encountered the same thing - as suggested change the type to TP Module then click save. I then clicked the edit icon for that block and selected TPShout then save. It is now working very well.

Running SMF 1.1.11, TPb4

Am I supposed to install the TP modules manually as well?  Right now the only module that is installed by default is the Downloads Manager.  The other modules still reside in the folders that they were packaged in.  So for example, TPShout sits in a folder in the root of my SMF directory called tp-files (specifically tp-files/tp-modules/TPShout).

You won't have to install the TP Shoutbox, but if you want to use it, you will need to turn it on, as Ken mentioned in his post above.

I looked at http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php/topic,78.html.  There is no blocktype called shoutbox.  The only options available are:

In theory, shouldn't there be a gallery and shoutbox type available there?  The instructions themselves make sense, assuming said options exist in the list to choose.

The Shout box is a Module for TP, so you need to use a 'TP Module' block to display the Shoutbox.
