TinyPortal as a Blogging platform?

I think I already found part of the answers. 

I can change some things in the frontpage settings of TP to show only posts from up to 5 different boards, right?
Even the maximum number of characters to be shown can be set there.

That's a good start! 

But that limits me to only 5 subjects/categories/boards, and by using the article category from TP itself you can set as many categories as you want, even subcategories, right?

Limited to only the 5 categories unless you change the code a bit. Which is already posted if you search for it.
