Need some help on website.

See I don't mind using ftp but it always disconnects from server during upload & the files get corrupted. So can anyone recommend a ftp program, currently using filezilla.

If you get dissconnected i would contact the host asking them why.
FileZilla is one of the best free ftp software on the net IMHO.
I use it on daily basis and it works flawless

u have to pay for it, but just download the trial which is designed to expire after 50 days but doesn't...lol.

if not give WinSCP a go, its not bad and supports many protocols such as SCP, SFTP and FTP

I agree with G6 and you should check with your web host provider why your FTP client is being disconnected.
Also as an aside, my limited experience with Microsoft servers is that due to their security shortcomings they had very low threshold limits (size) on files going up and down and would terminate the transfer. Maybe you are being hosted on one of those MS servers?

Thanks everyone for all your help. I'll probably have to start looking for a different host. Goddady just doesn't offer much support. Not to mention the Admin panel is not the best, Everyone I've talked to says to go with a host that uses Cpanel. I'll see what godaddy says. Thanks again.

The two times I've needed assistance with my account at GoDaddy.com was pleasant and resolved within five minutes of being on the phone.

As for the control panel issue, I rarely have the need to even use the panel. Everything I do with my site is through FileZilla or other software... and I upload several hundred megs of photos several times a month without any problems.

I don't spend any time in the control panel; once I set up my domain, made a few DNS changes for my personal mail server, added a few sub-domains, and enabled web stats... I left it alone and let it run.

If anything, I suggest you monitor your internet connection, not the server. Try a free host with FTP and see if you experience the same disconnects...

I got the basic plan for $22.50 per yr.

I do not have tp installed there, but the php ini is good for everything tp I think. The c panel is very pretty too. they just installed a new one....

as far as uploading files and getting disconnected--that is how I found pwrhost--I was having the same problem and it was not the ftp client.

filezilla, sftp, core ftp le, fire ftp all disconnected .

the prob was too many connections at one time from my ip or it timed out and paused.I am not really sure how it was solved except to say thet there was a problem somewhere from my computer to the server--one of the hops..

Changing host will more than likely change that--I do not have the problem anymore. 

changine how many simultaneous connection will help. I believe sftp has unlimited which might cause problems. pwrhost allows 10 simultaneous connection from 1 ip.

uploading large files is really easy with zipdeploy

this is a very nice program and works to and from the server.easily worth the $10.. if it solves you problem...download zipped backups too

the problem with it is that if you upload something like smf or tp[or anything else that has permissions attached] it cahnges all the permissions to 777.Not bad for smf, but not everything else

The guy is working on a new release that will upload tar/gz[or something] files with permissions intact.

for uploading multiple images and large files[must be in .zip form ]  and whatnot just zip em up an upload.it will not work, i don't think, on 1 large file...since it is not .zip

Update. I finally got it configured to allow larger files up to 100mb works fine now. I also have got my ftp problems strait so i can ftp to the site & make backups of everything with out it getting corrupted. Thank You all for your help.
