PC monitor as webcam

It's probably a silly question, but I'm just little curious here. Can you use your PC monitor as webcam on messengers (yahoo, msn, etc.). Please give me some information.

I use my PC to view other people's webcam all the time, whether it be on Yahoo! or MSN.  I guess it depends on what kind of camera you're talking about?

No you cant use your PC monitor

You need a device caled a Webcam or Digital Camera

You hook it up to your PC and then you are able to broadcast.

But if you are only interested in viewing webcams, then you can view them on your monitor and sometimes in your mouse

although aku is correct, i believe apple is currently working on just what you are talking about. i guess they are embedding camera lens' within the lcd screen pixels so that your actual monitor can also be your webcam. not sure how far along they are, but i did just read something about it not long ago. i will see what i can dig up.

okay, so basically if I don't have a webcam I can only view other webcam but they can't view me? or will they also able to view me? please clarify it for me...

If you do not have something that will record you you will not be shown to the other person. Monitors are monitors. They simply display stuff to you.
