just have a look at this topic again
http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?topic=9292.0

ive updated it with new stuff as well

also u need some basic level html knowledge to play around with this, which isnt very hard :)

Cybertoad

LOL , well I do have basic skills, but I am not sure what your programming is asking to be done.
PS the link you gave says

"The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you"

I'm obviously logged in to post this so not sure what that means.

Doesnt seem lik it should be that hard to have a link open in a frame, but I am not sure how this program works the basic html inputs dont seem to work.
just poke aroun this thing until figure it out.

Thanks Cybertoad

Hi Guys
Ive figured out the code the instruction were great.

But what I am trying to do is have a block with links, say on the right or left side panels that have links that open in the center.

Does this make sense?

Thanks
Cybertoad

In order to make them open in the center you'll have to create an article with the content that you want to put in the center. Then in your sidebar you can add the html links that point to the articles for your center content. Create and article and a sideblock. Once you've created the article post a link to the article and I'll show you the code to put in for a link to the article.

Hi There,

I am not sure why I am having this difficulty, as Ive made php links in smf lots of times.

But as directed,
I made a link on in the box and and it shows up wrong for some reason the whole script shows in the html box, I made the article as well.

perhaps you can make heads or tails but I am obviosly doing something wrong n my head here LOL.

Tried linking but didnt seem to work either.
I tried a script box and html box and the whole link spells out .

Thanks

Can you give me a temp admin account so I can see what you're doing there? PM me if you'd like.

IchBin

You had some extra code tags and stuff in there. I'm not sure where you got the code from. Did you use an editor? Anyway, you can see what the code looks like now if you want to get an idea of how the links work.

I also put a link to an article so you could see how it works.

Thanks Itchin,

I appreciate the help, I didnt notice the tags wierd.
But I see what you posted that stuff, I should keep out of trouble now. LOL :uglystupid2:

Thanks again for the help on the last few posts .

Hi There , Ok I understood what and how.
But I noticed the links in the block opens in the center, but then there are no side block to navigate. it opens up the entire page and only leaves the top menu. Is there a way to leave the blocks on the sides as well and "only" change the center? To the new article ?
right now the link moves away the blocks for the article. leaving the blocks gone.

Thanks
