It could be something else causing the issue that conflicts with the Blog module. On my test site it doesn't take that long at all.

The Greek translation of Feline' s Blog module for TP 0.8.6 is ready. Just keeping it for refinements.

For translation also a small piece must be added and translated in Tportal.[language].php. It's added in Tportal.english.php with installation.

// --- start FelBlog
$txt['permissiongroup_felblog'] = 'Blog Module';
$txt['permissionname_showblog'] = 'Enable Blogs';
$txt['permissionhelp_showblog'] = '';

$txt['Felblog-1']= 'Show Blogs';
$txt['Felblog-2']= 'Manage your Blog';
// --- end FelBlog

Add it after the last language string definition.

In Greek I get character errors in months and days display in the small calendar, any experience on what happens with other non latin characters languages? Month names in Archive display OK.
  For Greek aeromodellers and our friends around the world  - Greek Button sets for SMF

Members can't get to blogs page (I can't see anything in permisions except under tinyportal "Manage blogs") I looked for Permisions to View/create blog but no go..
they all report getting an error message

Quotewhen clicking the blog button, i get "An error has occured" and a "back" link.

the url i'vr placed in the menu is http://www.codingmonkeys.com/index.php?action=tpmod;blog

It all seems to work fine for me so it looks like its a permissions issue

BTW everything Installed OK after I replaced the TPortalBlocks template ith the original and the updated blog template file
its ok now.. i had to give them permision to manage blogs .. but no then thats confusing.. because the other things in that area are for admins only really arn't they.. EG: what if i enabled block management or article management by mistake .. wouldn't the membergroups that i added it to be able to edit all the blocks and articles etc on the site incliding turning them off.. If this is true I would suggest making a new area for the blogs settings .. like there is for the dl manager and like other plugins for SMF do

Good catch.  Since my site hasn't opened yet I haven't logged in as a regular member yet to see how that works.

I agree with you.

feline

Next release will have own permission in Blog admin settings ..

Question .. how do i delete a user out of the blogs list..  I can delete the comments and catagorised blog entries.. but then I get left ith a user without any blogs.. even when i deactivate their blog.. it still lists them in the blogs list

Also how do i change the editor to the new one.. (still using the .86 wysiwyg editor) Which one is better ??? and why..

For now if you want to erase a user from the blog it has to be through the database user entry  ???.

All right, let me see if I can get something straight, because I think I confused myself.

Right now there are only permissions to enable the use of blogs for the individual membergroups.  However, that is the only way for members (and guests) to view the blogs.  So, if I want one particular membergroup to be able to post blogs, right now, the only way for the other membergroups to view them is to also have blogs?

Did I get that right, or did I miss something?

Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.  Installing this package will perform the following actions:
   Type    Action    Description
1.    Extract Tree    ./Themes
2.    Extract Tree    ./Sources
3.    Execute Code    felblog_install.php
4.    Execute Modification    felblog060-11rc2.mod    Modification parse error

any ideas? Thank you
