Google still shows a page that was deleted months ago?

[Lineo]

Data recovery people know that "deleted" rarely means gone. Google works a bit the same way: a page can be removed or edited at the source and still appear in results with the old snippet for a while.

For that situation Google has a Refresh Outdated Content tool. You submit the URL, and Google updates or drops the stale result. Handy when someone took down a post about you but a search for your name still shows it.

For results that are still live, it helps to sort them first: personal data (number, address, ID), social media posts, news articles, and neutral results you'd rather keep. Each group has its own route. This page on removing your name from Google walks through that sorting and its limits.

Anyone tried the refresh tool? Was it quick?
