New computer!

Same here - they are the butt of jokes by the local talk radio computer folks (Commando & Colburn - technodragon may be familiar with them) with their poor service, high prices and off-brand stuff.

Ya, I am familiar with them, but  Iwonder if you and I are talking about the same place!  They have always had the lowest prices, and I have never had any problems with any of the coputer parts I have purchased there...matter. of, fact, the PC i am using now (for three years) is all fry's

Since you've not had any problems, then I have to say ........ wonderful!

I go there for some of the little cables - CD, power, etc. But other than that, I've never been impressed. I think one of the problems is that the help there is underpaid, then commission is added on large items. Sometimes the worst product has the highest commission, therefore that is what they recommend.

That may be part of the issue...when I go I know what I want so never ask for recommendations

And there is part of my problem - the stores are so oddly laid out that I have to ask someone where to find what I want - then hope they know.
