strange � in articles and a 507 char. limit

I just looked at something else..
The text is getting truncated at the first " ' " (apostrophe) that appears in the article. For example in the attached text above it's the word "I'm".

Why I didn't pick up on this yesterday is beyond me...

I can't duplicate this on my site.  The article works fine ...

My suggestion would be to try uploading and overwriting the TP files from TP 1.0 beta 5-1 again, and if that doesn't work, you might have to go through a manual install to make sure everything from beta 5-1 got installed correctly.  The apostrophe issue you mention was a problem in several earlier Alphas, and could have slipped into the first public beta 5.  If the install for beta 5-1 didn't work correctly, you could still have this from the original install.

I setup a test site last night. Nothing used or imported from my live site. Clean fresh install of SMF and TP. No other mods or custom edits.
New database, New SMF, New TP. (latest versions, downloaded last night)

Basically what I'm seeing is that the system is choking on special characters. On my live site and test site.

I don't know what to tell you.  If you can give us some specific examples of special characters that you are having trouble with, maybe Bloc can look into it.  BTW, what is the default Forum Language for yor Forum?  On SMF RC3, you can find that by going to Admin --> Configuration --> Languages.  If is is set to anything other than English ISO, trying making that the Default and see if that helps.

English ISO-8859-1 is the only language installed.

Article works fine on my test site also ZP.

I have very simular problem: after migrating from TP 0.98+SMF 1.11 to TP 1.05-1+SMF 2RC3 I can't edit my articles. If I try, then after I click "Save" button, acticle truncates to 5-10-100 chars ending with �. That is really annoying: I have to work in phpmyadmin and you know, it's not very handy.
Moreover, some articles that worked nice in 0.98 can't be inserted to database even with phpmyadmin: for some reason the "body" column of smf_tp_articles table is the "text" type now (was longtext) so the article cant go in.

In addition. I tryed to create not HTML but BBC article and it is still the same: after saving all I have is 3 lines ending with �.
