I checked to error logs and nothing. I can uninstall TP and all works fine, I upload through forum admin and , apply mod, all files test successful and then I hit apply. Now that I can get to the install docs i may find the answer myself. This happen one time before a few years back but I cannot recall what it took. Something simple tho. Thx for any help. Ronald.

Maybe a permissions problem.

Please delete the above post. I now see the problem. If what i do does not resolve it, I will be back. Thx people.

This problem is kinda weird and I am not sure that I understand it or whats causing it.

Was repointed April 1st. and I installed SMF on the 3rd and it works fine. I attempted an install of TP last night and today but the warning/error says to get in touch with Webmasters which is the old account/server.

The old account has been deleted and as far as I can tell all has resolved. I guess I need to dig deeper. I just do not understand the refernce to the old server unless it has not resolved. A who-is should help, brb.

My bad, I found the problem. Delete all the junk if you want. It serves no useful purpose for future help. Thx.

Curious, what was the problem?

anyoldcard

As far as I can see, wrong DNS info. When i checked the who-is I saw it. I am repointing now so should work soon.

IchBin

ah, very cool. Thanks for the info. I ran into that problem a long time ago and never looked into it. Now I know! :D

I just checked the other day and it is not the wrong DNS. Hmmm, seems this happen about 2 years agoo but I cannot remember the solution. It has had more than euff time to resolve so i am going to try another install of Tiny Portal and if it will not work through the SMF admin, I will try a manual install now that i can get to the docs.  :)

Ok, attempt through the admin section was a failure:

Updated version to 1097
Updated access field of blocks
Update featured article
Converted variables table for utf-8
Converted tables for utf-8
Converted shoutbox table for utf-8

The package was installed successfully. You should now be able to use whatever functionality it adds or changes; or not be able to use functionality it removes.

It does not work tho.

I am going for a manual install in a little while. Be back in a little while.

I am back and have a different server. It is at the same Host but it is a VPS server and the other was a reseller.

I noticed on my current installation (old server) that I have version 1.1.5 and TinyPortal v1.0 beta 4. I checked at SMF for the latest verion and it has 1.1.11 for the current download. How did I end up with 1.1.5 and is this older than 1.1.11 or newer. Its not a release candidate is it? I'm confused.
