I am unable to find the following code in the theme I am using.

Skipp other themes then the default Core ( SMF default theme ) It's to that theme everything gets added as thats the foundation for everything, so keep working in the core theme ONLY until everything is set and working

Rather than carry out edits on your live site, I'd suggest you install wampserver (http://www.wampserver.com/) on your own computer, set-up SMF + TP onto it, then use that for devloping/testing before making changes to your live site.

Thanks for the link to wampserver but that would take all day to download as I am on dial up.

Followed the instructions for manual install and nothing has changed, at least it works so probably best to leave things alone.

Slight problem after the editing of files, if I try and visit admin I am prompted for password but when page refreshes it does not go to the admin panel, I have to log out and back in to gain access.

Did you do as i asked you to ?   I still see your custom theme on your site.

On simplemachines you have a file called repair_settings.php, download that and use it as instructed on simplemachines.org

Already ran repair, I really do need to use the custom theme, is this causing the problems?

I don't want to get too involved with this topic as you are already getting support, but let me explain the use of the default theme.

All mods get installed to the default theme. therefore you should be using the default theme when installing mods. Custom themes use some custom files which override the default theme files when in use.

There are very few custom theme files that need to be edited to accommodate a mod, those that do will need to be edited manually and usually you can find instructions or support of which files to edit at the mod authors site.

tinyportal 1.*.* doesn't need to integrate into many custom theme files, if any at all. Most of the edits are to the default theme files, which are still in use regardless of which custom theme files are overriding other files.

You need to ensure all the edits to the default theme including paths are correct. repair_settings.php can help with the paths.

Many thanks Zetan, so the custom theme should not be edited to show correct menu items etc as this is drawn from the default?
