I am using SMF 1.1.8 and TP 1.0.6. Beta 2 .

I cannot seem to get by articles to work so I am trying to just find a way to dislay a JPG image on the front panel block. Anyone know how ?

Thanks

All you have to do is put your html image code in the html block. What part do you need help with?

On a left block that is a menu block I would like to have a menu item that says "race results" and once selected it displays in the center block an image in one of my directories that is basically an excel export saved to image of the latest race results.

When I create the menu item in the menu manager, I cannot find an HTML type block.

http://www.grcse.com/forum/index.php Here's my site !

Right now the "Résultats de courses" or race results in the menu points to an external site. I want to display those three results images locally within my portal. I am the images in a directory on my server.

My guess from looking at the image is that it's a "created-on-the-fly" kind of image, rather than being an actual file that you can display on your site. Or it might be one that changes on a regular basis. I don't think you're going to be able to display that image on your site.

You can try, though. You would put this in your scriptbox:

<img src="http://i40.piczo.com/view/3/0/5/h/3/y/a/x/q/t/8/x/img/i254291368_9960_2.jpg" />

See if it works. If it does, great. If it doesn't, you can't display it.

I have the image in a folder on the forum server and I will be allowing someone to update it via FTP. Thing is I am lost on how to get it to show up from a menu item.

Do I create a block or a menu ? I tried to create a front panel block and inserted <img src="../resultats/results1.jpg" /> and chose scriptbox, activated it but nothing shows up.

What would be the address of the block I created show I can associate it to a menu item ?

I am getting somewhere. I am able to have the image show up on the front panel. But what I need is to have it show up from a menu item instead.

As i understand it, you want to click on a link in the menu and make the picture visible.

I would have open article --> Add HTML --> Insert  the image and save it.

Then i would take the link to the article and posted that in menu, so it links to the picture.

Or you can do it like this:

Create a new topic in the forum, insert the picture, and link to the forumpost in menubox.

Not totally sure what you want, but by doing as i said, you will be able to show this from the menubox.

Well I found a better way ! Using the download manager to post the results files .

As for the article trick that is good also but I cannot get any articles to show up with SMF 1.1.8 and TP 1.06 Beta 2. Must be a template problem or something like that.

Thanks for the help.

Are you having problems creating it, or just problems getting it visible?
