This is a frustrating prblem I've had for a while, but I haven't done anything about it until now as I thought maybe the upgrade would fix it.

I have left hand blocks switched on in all sections of the forum except profile, and that does work and does display the left hand blocks on all sections of the forum  EXCEPT when I click on post preview.  In post preview the left blocks disappear and the post preview is the full width of the screen.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

thanks

So if you click  "new topic" or "reply" the block is there, but when you click "preview" it disappears? Or is it not there for either screen?

When you go to
Panels & Blocks > Left Blocks > Edit block > Go to visible options

Do you have "post" checked?

I just tried on mine and it works (post new topic, preview the new topic, reply to a topic, preview a reply), but I have TP 1.0.5 beta 1

It's the same here. I assume there's something in the bug-tracker about it because the members of the team have discussed it.

I just wrote the above in the Quick Reply and now I'm on the preview. No left blocks.

ah ok, at least it's not just me lol  It's been like that since last year when I upgraded to 1.0.5 beta 1.  Yeah, you're right, I never noticed it here lol  It looks a lot worse in SMF default theme

It's annoying because people set out their posts based on what they think the width is going to be but then when they post they discover that something they think was going to fit on one line has now run over to two.

immaturity

that's very very strange!

So it's ONLY if you click "preview" from the quick-reply that this problem occurs? If you click "reply" and then preview from that screen it's good?

Looks like someone needs to figure out how to add "post2" to the visible options?

It looks like it, yeah.

I'm not sure how it's being dealt with. That's not my department. :)

confuzed

should I report it to the bug tracker thingy?  Or can I do something to fix it?

JPDeni

Here's something you can do in the meantime. Go to Admin > Configuration > Current Theme > Reset Options

Go to each of your themes that you have installed and select Reset all members' current options for this theme

Find Reset all members' current options for this theme

Select Change on the left drop-down and don't show at all on the right one.

Click the Save button.

Since the problem only arises with the quick reply, the problem will disappear if quick reply disappears.

Possibly someone else will come up with another solution, but this is something that will work for now.

confuzed

thanks but we can't do without quick reply :)  There would be a mutiny lol

Well... :D I just don't know enough about the inner workings of TP to know how it all works.

Put it on the bugtracker, yes.
