Hi all,

I downloaded and installed a new theme but somehow the main theme (Adagio) stays on the frontpage while the rest of the links show the new theme.

The forum link is here. Yes it's on a free domain name and server but I like to check things and iron out problems before going live.

I do not have any articles at all. I tried changing themes but somehow the main theme stays on the frontpage and all the other pages show the new theme.

Oops and let me add that I am using SMF 1.1.7 with TP 1.0.6 beta 2 installed.

Any help appreciated Happy New Year and best regards to all here.

goto your admin page, click on the Themes and Layout Link on the left side - when it comes up you will see 2 boxes to choose from - one labeled "Overall forum default:" and the other labeled "Reset everyone to:" make sure both are set for the theme you want to use and click SAVE - this should fix it.

Thanks p v c blue but nope nothing happens. After choosing and clicking save (both same themes) the lower option box just shows "No change". No errors in the Forum error log. Yes, I did do a hard refresh to check after the selection.

Vulcan,

Give us a link to your site so that we can see it.  Hard to tell what's going on unless we see it.

However, the only time I've ever seen this happen on my forum is when I did this on purpose.  If you have the Forum set to show a featured article on your front page AND that article is set to display with a theme that is NOT the default theme for the forum, then the front page will show with the theme the article is using, whereas the rest of the forum will show the forum default you've selected.  I hope I was clear on that.

Hope this helps,

ZarPrime

Thanks zarprime,

Yes I did browse through the forum and someone had a similar problem before. However in my case, I have no articles whatsoever. The link to my forum is here.

Just to update members, p v c blue did have a go at it and he can't understand the problem as well.

Regards.

If your frontpage is locked to one theme while the rest of the forum have another, is must be an article that hold the theme locked.
Check your article manager again.

Hi G6,

I did that. I do not have any articles whatsoever.

Also if you notice the title at the top of the browser says "Merry Xmas....." but my frontpage was edited to show "Happy New Year......" which for some reason doesn't show at all. Not sure if the two are related.

Thanks.

Reupload the tp files from the package, then point your browser othe manual_tp_install.php and let it update your tp tables. Refresh the page and have another look

And please dont send me any PMs unless i have asked you to.

Okay thanks will try that.

P V C Blue after having a thorough look seem to think that there is a bug in the Adagio theme. He can see nothing wrong anywhere.

Just like to add, did you try the test account yet before I try the manual install?
