i got the same error while upgrade from 8.4 ->8.6. i haven't looked into it as of yet.

foreach($settings_array as $what => $val){
        $sjekk=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM {$new_prefix}settings WHERE name='$what'");
        if(mysql_num_rows($sjekk)<1){
                 mysql_query("INSERT INTO {$new_prefix}settings (name,value) VALUES ( '$what', '$val')");
        }

This is strange..it would seem the array don't hold its values. Could you post SMF version, server, PHP and MySQL version?

Version Information:
Forum version: SMF 1.1 RC2 (more detailed)
Current SMF version: SMF 1.1 RC2
PHP version: 4.3.11
MySQL version: 4.1.14-standard
Server version: Apache
GD version: bundled (2.0.28 compatible)

Have you tried uninstalling TP, delete, then installing v86?

um, i don't think a complete uninstall is needed. i just have so much going on this week, i'm not sure when i'll have time to fire up phpadmin ;)

Xarcell

That's fine, I was suggesting doing it through package manager. Of course, abort if you get a failure on uninstalling it.

No need to use teh phpadmin.

I get this error, going from a clean install of SMF (newest version) and a clean install attempt of the newest TP.

I did not see any fixes in this thread, how did the OP get past the issue?

EDIT : I am using the version of TP that was pre modded and posted in the forum for 1.0.7 issues.

I tried installing it via tp_install.php and uploading the package and using the package manager, when using the package manager I am told some files need to be CHMODed, but does not list which ones are incorrect.

IchBin

Did you input your ftp information so the package manager can chmod the files by itself?

mrwuss

Yes and it would send me back to the screen with no further information, perhaps an error message should be added when FTP fails on the package manager. (which is not this software but something SMF needs to do)

It came down to my host not liking the 'localhost' as the FTP address, changing it to the address I use for FTP fixed my problem.

Thats strange.
Some sites i have helped install the TP on, and had to change files that way, it did actually give an error message if it didnt work.
Often 500 server error, could not proceed with the action or something similar..  ???
