Y'know it just occurred to me that I missed a golden opportunity. I could have knocked up several free email accounts, registered n00b handles for them here, and then spammed the board up with support requests for the new v1.0 Beta release, making sure to play thick as a brick of course.

Not that would have been an April Fool's joke and a half. ;D

Since it's now April 2, can I get a straight answer: is there actually a 1.0 beta?
If I seem naive, so be it...

Please do not cross post the same question. There is, as Dragooon pointed, out a download that is an early release. There will be an official announcement to come soon. For now it is highly recommended that the April 1st joke isn't used on a live site.

There are still bugs being worked out, but the Team wanted to have a little fun after all their hard work and also offer a real live "demo" so to speak.

Congrats on the real 1.0 release Bloc :)

Except that you don't have to install it. Just read the tp_install.php file in a text editor.

No need to give the game away ;) :P

I'm sorry if I cross posted (there were two active discussions, so I posted in each one).  But let's not get too serious here...this is all a joke, after all, right?

Anyway, I hope you understand that for those of us still learning our way around the software, such "jokes" can be unnecessarily confusing.

I've become a big fan of TP, and like a lot of people here I am very excited about the new release.

Keep up the great work on the (real) software!

Matt

You seem to be the one getting upset, me being serious is trying to explain politely the reason it was done.

Quite

It was a joke yes, but one that required a little more than sitting and laugh. It was very descriptive of how much attention you give the install routine. Those paying attention would see it, others...did not (..)

But the joke is over, life goes on and a new day has arrived. :)

We have removed the "fake" now and the download with it. Since we launched it we have also fixed a few errors which we like to include, so the new release will actually be a small update to yesterdays beta even. Stay tuned.

Bloc - I want to hug and squeeze you.  Is that legal in your region?
